Cancellations and Refunds

Please see below our refundable percentages vs cancellation time. We kindly request that ALL cancellations are sent via email to oceanpitchcroyde@gmail.com (This is so we can log when the cancellation was sent). Unfortunately we do not offer credit for bookings. Check in / Check out

Check in is strictly from 12:00pm onwards. All campers arriving prior to this time on the day of arrival may be asked to come back at 12 noon. Prompt check out is at 10:30am, as we need this opportunity each day to maintain the pitches. No arrivals after 10:30pm.

Pitch Size

Ocean Pitch is a small campsite. Our pitches align next to each other and are all close together. If you are looking for a large campsite with wide open spaces, Ocean Pitch is not for you. However, as clearly advertised on our website we have 3 different pitch sizes (Small, Medium and Large) all of which are detailed on the website. Therefore, at time of booking we ask our campers to ensure they have booked the correct pitch for their tent or campervan, ensuring there is a 0.5m minimum gap between campers tent/campervan and the pitch boundary. Please note: Our website clearly highlights the exact size of each pitch dimension.

Tent and Campervan sizes allowed onsite

From experience tent sizes such as 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 Person tents tend to fit within the appropriate pitch at Ocean Pitch Campsite. However, the onus is on the camper and the camper MUST ensure their tent comfortably fits and adheres to the 0.5m clearance of the boundary lines rule as mentioned under the condition ‘Pitch Size’. Due to local planning regulations the maximum length of campervan/motorhome allowed onsite at Ocean Pitch is 6.5m long. Due to preserving the view for everyone onsite, campervans any longer than 5m and high tops are not permitted to book pitches 1, 2, 3 or 4.

Caravans

Strictly no caravans. We do not hold the right license to accept Caravans.

Pets/Dogs

We do not accept bookings for dogs. Guide dogs and therapy dogs are welcome on site.

Campfires / BBQs

BBQs are permitted on site, as long as they are raised up off the grass either by the BBq’s legs or if a disposable BBQ you must use the bricks provided onsite. Disposable BBqs and the remains of BBQ’s are to be disposed of in the BBQ bin provided onsite. Open campfires are NOT permitted on the campsite, due to safety reasons. However, contained fires in an official fire-pit/bucket are acceptable but we do ask for these to be put out with a bucket of water prior to going to sleep.

Groups / Age limits – Under 18s

Due to the small nature of our campsite, Ocean Pitch is NOT suitable for large group bookings. The campsite is quiet in the evenings and therefore if your desire is to stay up late (10:30pm Onwards) then we are NOT the site for you. We do NOT allow bookings for Hen or Stag nights. No person under the age of 18 is permitted to stay alone unless accompanied by an adult (18+). We are also sorry to say but the campsite is not suitable for under 2’s. The site is compact and little ones that are unable to sleep through the night may cause noise disturbance for your camping neighbours.

Audible Music onsite / Night Time Noise

No audible music onsite. LIGHTS OUT AT 11PM (This is to ensure a pleasant night sleep for ALL guests).

Electric hook ups

We have 15 electrical pitches on site. We do not allow electrical hook-up splitters to be used. Should you require electricity to charge your electric vehicle please book an electric pitch. Our electrical hook-up points are all 16amp and use the standard EU Electrical hook-up camping connection.

Payments / Deposits

We accept Credit/debit cards and on arrival we also accept cash payments. We do not accept Cheques. Payment must be upfront for advanced bookings. We ask for a 20% deposit at time of booking with the remaining balance due 30 days prior to arrival. For bookings less than 30 days away we ask for full payment upfront.

Security

Ocean Pitch Campsite cannot take any responsibility for the security of your personal items or vehicles. Customers agree that their stay at Ocean Pitch campsite is entirely at their own risk and hereby indemnify the owner and staff from liability for any loss or damage caused by themselves, members of their party, their guests or invitees, to any of their equipment chattels or property. Friendly staff are on duty day and night for your benefit and so please do not abuse their authority or the site rules. Staff are on site 24 hours a day. During the hours in which reception is closed, please call 07581024348 for any site related emergencies. In the highly unlikely event Ocean Pitch reserves the right to terminate your stay should any of our site rules/T&Cs be abused. In this circumstance Ocean Pitch is not liable to offer a refund for the remainder of your stay.

Potential disturbance from neighbouring fields during your stay

Croyde can be a very vibrant and lively village during the season. On occasion ‘The National Trust’ hosts weddings/events in the field opposite and Ocean Pitch cannot be held responsible for any disturbances. The National Trust usually hosts a large music festival each year during the third weekend of June and therefore during the week prior and after the festival there can be disturbances while setting up and packing the festival down. There is a campsite located next to us who occasionally hosts events such as live music evenings or markets. We cannot be held accountable for any disturbance they may cause during your stay. There is also a South West Water treatment Plant nearby which upon occasion can cause noise and odour disturbances for the north end of Croyde Bay, and again we cannot be held accountable for this.

Events out of our control

We will not be responsible for any failure to perform our obligations under these terms and conditions that are caused by an event outside our control. An event outside our control means any act or event that is beyond our reasonable control, including without limitation severe weather event, drought, fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic or other natural disaster, strikes or industrial action by third parties, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war or threat of war, civil commotion, riot, invasion, private events such as weddings, odour from the water treatment works (Neighbouring the campsite) or failure of public or private telecommunications networks.

COVID-19 – By booking/staying with us you are agreeing to adhere to the restrictions set out by the Government in regards to travel & tourism during the COVID-19 pandemic. All guests will be made aware of these guidelines prior to arrival. Failure to comply with these strict rules whilst on site will give Ocean Pitch the right to terminate your booking, therefore forfeiting any refund for the remainder of your stay.

Force Majeure clause

Ocean Pitch is not liable for refunds or expenses you incur in the event they are prevented from fulfilling your Booking as a result of circumstances beyond their control. Such circumstances shall include (but not be limited to) war, terrorism, riots or civil unrest, industrial action, flooding, natural disaster, epidemics, health risks or such similar events (“Force Majeure”). We recommend that you have adequate holiday insurance in place to cover this. Whilst every effort is made to avoid changes or errors, we are only human. Please check and/or query the details and price of your chosen holiday at the time of booking with a member of the Ocean Pitch team.

Our service to you

In the unlikely event of there being a problem or dissatisfaction with any matters under our control during your holiday please report them to Reception immediately so that we may have the opportunity where possible to rectify any issues. We will not be responsible for any issue which you knew about during your stay where it was not reported to a member of the Ocean Pitch team. If you feel the reported matter is not resolved to your satisfaction during your stay, please write to Benny and Lou within 7 days of returning from your holiday. Any correspondence must be in writing or E-mail, from the lead guest on the booking and must be signed by the lead guest due to the Data Protection Act 1998. We cannot accept liability in relation to any claim of whatever nature if you fail to notify us in writing within 7 days from the end of your holiday. We will respond to your concerns within 28 days.

Site Rules

Please respect our site rules, they are there to make yours and all other campers stay as happy & pleasant as possible.
